Teriyaki Sauce
Ingredients
1 cup low sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar or mirin
1 tablespoon honey or coconut palm sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons grated, peeled fresh ginger root
2-1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
Combine the soy sauce, vinegar or mirin, sweetener, garlic, and ginger in a small saucepan with 1/4 cup water. Bring to a boil. Mix the cornstarch with the water and add it to the pot. Boil for 1 minute and turn off the heat. Serve.
