Staying Fit and Healthy at Home

The majority of us are stuck at home.

Now what?

How are we going to stay fit, strong and healthy?

There is plenty you can do at home with limited equipment no matter your age or experience. It all depends on your goal.

If the quality of exercises are there you can gain things like muscle, strength, flexibility and fat loss in your own home. The motivation and accountability part is tough.

Get online!

Before you start sifting through the many nauseating online bodyweight programs from desperate inexperienced trainers maybe get in touch with one of the many local experienced trainers here on the Fraser Coast.

They will be able to offer you a quality program built for you and potentially help you for free.

They are in the fitness industry because they love what they do and they love to help people in any time.

If you’re hitting up google make sure you do your research because there are some excellent free programs out there that you’ll get results from.

It’s a great time to learn new skills and work on weaknesses. Learn how to stretch properly or work on tight/ injured muscles caused by being stuck on a desk for years.

Remember, we now have more time to learn something new and work on personal growth.

The other part of staying healthy is the FOOD.

For those of you with weight loss goals or the goal of not putting on any weight during this time, this could seem difficult.

The key is to set up your environment with nutrient rich food such as vegetables, good protein sources and foods containing healthy fats.

If our environment contains any junk food we are bound to fail. We are only human.

Fill your environment with healthy food so it’s hard to fail.

Now it’s time to cook, or for some, learn how to cook.

Use the internet as much as you can to get recipes, watch videos and get your Gordon Ramsay on! Call an old friend how is a great cook to get help.

Exercising differently, stretching, working on injuries, learning how to cook, trying new healthy foods, meal prepping and developing new healthy habits will only make us stronger coming out of this tough time.

Personal growth in these positive healthy aspects of your life will make you bulletproof when you emerge from hibernation.
