Cardio Vascular Training
What is cardio? What are the different forms of cardio? When is the best time to do cardio? Should I do faster cardio for fat loss? Will cardio make me lose muscle gains? At Lift, we take a science based approach to all types of cardio and can help you develop a program that is targeted towards your lifestyle goal.
Just remember, moving your body at any time of the day is always healthier than not moving at all.
Strength Training and Muscle Building
Over our life span, we lose approximately 50% of our muscles cells. The old saying, "If you don't use it, you lose it" is absolutely true. The remaining muscles cells have great potential for growth. IT's never too late to start! Strength training helps the individual to recruit these muscle cells for better use in functional movements. Hypertrophy training helps to increase the size of the muscle cells.The bigger the muscle the stronger it is. At Lift, we like to do a combination of these training methods for clients wanting increased strength. At present, we train individuals ranging from 13 years old to 77 years old.
Lower Your Body Fat
At Lift we focus on the most important benefit from exercise and a clean eating lifestyle ....Increased Health. Society and the media tries to link exercise and diets to image and how people will 'look'. We want to help people get healthier. If clients loose a few kilos of fat along the way then that is a great bonus. We can help clients looking to be healthier and needing to loose some body fat with our individual lifestyle plans and track progress along the way.
You're Not a Gym Person? No Problem
The Gym is not for everyone. A lot of people love getting stronger and lifting weights, but some people like running, swimming, cycling, hiking or sports. Here at Lift, we can still help you with a training and nutritional plan outside of a gym. The more you enjoy how you move your body, the more chance of sticking with it. Our goal is to help as many people as possible to increase their health through exercise in whatever form that may take. We focus on motivating the individual client to achieve personal goals in any chosen environment.
Sports Specific Training
If you are looking to increase performance in your chosen sport/s we can definitely help you with a precise periodised plan. From team sports such as Rugby or netball to individual endurance sports like triathlons, the trainers at Lift have extension experience in the macro and micro training cycles of a large variety of sports. We can help you get more out of your sport!
Always Sitting? Mobility, Posture and Injury Prevention
Do you have an occupation that requires a large amount of time sitting? Sitting for long periods of time is not necessarily linked to health disorders like the media suggests, unless it is part of a very inactive lifestyle. If the individual is overweight or obese then the risk of health problems will increase. The emphasis here should be to move more, and sit less. However, our experience here at Lift, we have found a direct correlation between long periods of sitting and shoulder immobility, weak abdominals, hip problems and lower back pain. We can help you decrease your chances of this by educating you on muscle imbalances, tightness and weakness. We can train you on flexibility and muscle release combined with activation and strengthening to maintain a healthier body. It is not always about lifting weights and getting fit. Posture and mobility go along way to helping you with a better lifestyle.

Know nothing about nutrition OR maybe even too much about it, that you don't know what to eat? Here at LIFT, we debunk many myths of nutrition and give you some guidelines about choosing healthier options when it comes to food. If you're looking for a specific food plan, we can link you up with a local recommended nutritionist.
Over-coming Health Issues
There are numerous health disorders that can be improved, reversed, or even eradicated through specific exercise programming.
